P!$$ED up Steve!

Hi ya’ll.
A Merry Christmas to everyone! 2012 has some groovy gigs coming up. 27th April, I’ll be doing a sort of Seasick Steve tribute, using my latest guitar edition shown in the last news item. In keeping with my persona, the tribute will be called “P!$$ed up Steve” and I’ll be using the Chickenbone John Cigar Box guitar in addition to the Busker Delta Blues resonator.
This gig will be at the lovely “Ditch the TV” in Coventry www.ditchthetv.co.uk
Also at DTTV 25th May, will be Bukechi. After the “Bukechi meets Ella” set of this year, 2012 will see the more traditional side of Sammi & Skidders.
One DTTV gig I cannot miss, is BAiT’s reunion 27th January - A MUST! BAiT feature drummer John Chivers and famous Concert Photographer, Chris R Johnson.
Another Bukechi gig will be at Cox’s Yard 8th March. Also at Cox’s are Claptout & Acoustic 12th January, where Malc Evans & I will be performing the acoustic numbers from Clapton’s MTV Session.
Beneva gigs where I’ll be playing bass, include: 7th January, the Kasbah Nightclub - Coventry; and the one I’m really excited about, the Cavern Club, Liverpool at the IPO Festival, 20th May.

Another New One!

Time for another new one -well, two actually. A new look site and a new guitar!
Skidders will be picking up his new cigar-box guitar this Saturday from fellow Smethwickian, Chickenbone John. All a bit Sea Sick Steve and what’s more, it was custom built match Skidders Stomp Box.

Bukechi at last get together again !

First gig for over 2 years!
Not only are Bukechi doing their first gig for over two years, but in their inimitable style, they will be doing something totally different!
Sammi and Skidders will, as Bukechi, be meeting Ella Fitzgerald and they play songs from the Ella Fitzgerald Songbook series.
Further to Skidders interest in Jazz and acquiring a Peerless Jazz guitar, the unique voice of Sammi against this new genre for Bukechi, has lead to a brand new set of songs, sure to please all listeners.
Jazz is a unique and challenging area to learn and play - said Skidders.
There is so much room to both improvise and for Sammi to extend her fantastic range, that it was a natural choice in the evolution of Bukechi - he added.
In addition to this new sound, Bukechi are once more at the boundaries of musical eclecticism, by completing a progressive rock single, soon to be released.

Follow the Light!

Nathan Bennetts new album
I will be appearing as guest lead guitars on the brand new solo album from Benevas Nathan Bennett. From Nathans PR office:
Nathan Bennett returns in March 2011 with the brand new album Follow The Light. It features 10 new songs all written, composed and produced by Nathan. Steve (Skidders) Skidmore will add guitars and bass to various tracks bringing the whole thing to life.
Nathan has worked with Steve on many occasions before both on album recordings (Join Together, I Wont Conform and Bright Red Hearts) as well as playing live session guitar at various UK gigs (IPO Liverpool, The Marrs Bar, Coxs Yard to name a few)
This year Steve will also continue to play bass for Beneva as they return to the UK gig scene with more dates to be announced soon
